Media (WP&S/WAAM) changing it’s name have been going on for a number of years and now the change to Wisconsin Visual Artists (WVA) is a reality. The votes have been counted and more than 70% of the membership responded overwhelming with a resounding, YES. Bravo to all for letting your voice be heard! Legal papers were signed by State Board Officers at the August 10, 2008 meeting at the Americinn in Waupun The names, WP&S and WAAM are not totally disappearing, as papers have been signed for them to be registered trade names owned by Wisconsin Visual Artists. This is an exciting time and a great opportunity for us to reach out for new members, offer more opportunites for Wisconsin artists to network, learn, grow, reach larger audiences, and get involved with Chapter and Statewide initiatives, such as exhibitions and the Saitama/Wisconsin Exchange.
If you have any questions or feedback, you always have chapter representation through your elected Chairs or direct communication with State Board Members via e-mail or phone.
On behalf of the 2008-09 WVA State Board, Thanks for the great turnout!
David Sear WVA State President
Christine Style WVA State Vice-President
